Bend Health, Inc. is seeking an experienced full-stack Software Engineer, Engineering: SWE 3 - SWE 4 (React, Typescript, Ruby on Rails). This is a full-time, 100% remote position.

Our founding team is made up of successful entrepreneurs who have been in both technology and healthcare for over twenty years in both private practices and at companies like Optum, Oracle, and Teladoc Health. We are growing quickly and we are hiring several positions to build out and scale our care delivery and care optimization platform.
Who You Are
- You are a full-stack software engineer with more than 2 years of professional experience building applications in React, Typescript, and Ruby on Rails.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, iterative startup environment.
- You have demonstrable experience delivering projects and features on time with high quality.
- You have experience building and delivering both back-end and front-end features and functionality.
- You communicate proactively, professionally, and relentlessly.
- You have experience working successfully on teams with multiple engineers.
- You are able to work effectively in a 100% remote environment with team members from diverse backgrounds and levels of experience.
- You have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar education or experience.
What You’ll Do
- Interpret and refine non-technical requirements into actionable technical designs.
- Design, develop, and implement user-friendly, data-centric, user experiences.
- Build and maintain middleware and backend systems.
- Optimize database and platform systems performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production code or platform issues.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve existing features and workflows.
- Research and apply new technologies as appropriate.
- Help hire, mentor, and grow other engineers.
- Communicate and collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Work closely with a team of highly skilled and passionate professionals dedicated to helping revolutionize the treatment of mental health conditions for kids and teens.
Bonus Points For
- Demonstrable experience building stable, high-scale distributed systems.
- Demonstrable experience building flexible and dynamic front-end user interfaces.
- Previous development experience in healthcare, mental healthcare and/or pediatrics.
- PCI and/or HIPAA knowledge/expertise.
- Experience in data science, machine learning, or the handling and analysis of large datasets.
- Experience working with production applications in AWS.
- Experience working with Postgres databases.
