Primary Function of Position:
We are seeking a self-motivated software engineer intern to join the Digital and Data Development group in projects focused on Medical Device Connectivity, Scalable event driven applications. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing team, exploring cutting-edge technologies and contribute to its future growth. It will give you an opportunity to test your knowledge in a challenging problem-solving environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Build or enhance secure, scalable server based products to optimize the application through-put for real-time stream processing applications
- Optimize the speed and performance of the application dealing with large amount of in-memory data
- Implement better memory management techniques to reduce application footprint
University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:
- University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.
- Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training
- Current enrollment in a computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related degree-seeking program at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Core competency in Python, C++ programming languages
- Exposure to React Front end development/ Full stack development
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Previous experience with the following is highly desirable:
- Web development using Flask/aioHttp
- Nginx proxy
- Good understanding of relational database concepts like SQL Server
- Familiarity with message queue frameworks like Kafka, RabbitMQ
