Software Engineer

Under The Guidance Of The VP Of Technology, Responsibilities Include

Artful Home is looking for a team player, who appreciates what we do and believes in our Guiding Principles, to join our dynamic technology team in Madison, WI. The successful candidate will be responsible for being a member of the Product Team developing eCommerce business solutions to meet customer and artist needs and facilitate the achievement of business objectives.

Contributes to an environment in which all team members are respected and included regardless of their individual differences and feel motivated to improve individual and work area contributions to achieve desired business results.
Delivers customer-centric software products that drive eCommerce business growth.
Collaborates with the Product Team to understand and design solutions that meet customer and business needs.
Works with the product manager, scrum master, UX designer, and subject matter experts to understand the complex technological systems in order to produce integrated end-to-end solutions.
Communicates solution approaches to the lead engineer, project teams, leadership, and other stakeholders.
Ensures solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements approved by the business.
Writes clean and efficient code that is full documented and easily tested.
Ensures adherence to internal software standards and processes.
Employs good security practices.
Conducts a continuous study of internal process methods, researches new technology and develops a proposal application of such technology for the purposes of reduction and process improvement.
Enhances the organizational reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different demands; exploring opportunities to add value to job and work area accomplishments.
Participates in related staff, team, and/or task group meetings to ensure constant communication of key items.
Hybrid - May work remotely but requires the ability and flexibility to work in the office and travel as needed and upon request.

The Successful Candidate Will Possess The Following

Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a similar field is required.
A solid working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML is required.
Knowledge of API design and development is required.
Experience designing and implementing customer-focused products is required.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies is required.
Experience in a retail eCommerce environment is preferred.
Working knowledge of SQL, Hibernate, Angular, React, Spring MBC/Boot and IntelliJ is preferred.
Product Team experience is preferred.
Experience developing for a cloud-native environment is preferred.
